WTI conducts scientific research, unexploded ordnance analysis, training, and investigations within our Scientific Services Division. Our core capabilities in the scientific arena include the following: explosive/chemical operations and storage, environmental stewardship, biometrics, forensics, contamination monitoring and assessment, risk analysis, safety and occupational health principles, fingerprint examinations, and regulatory concerns. We develop and implement complex, scientific principles in the form of operating procedures, safety plans, regulatory techniques, and investigation standards. WTI has experience in operating in laboratories, processing sites, and Government facilities. Our experience includes the development and execution of environmental health and safety training requirements, such as Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) first responder, HAZMAT Response refresher, and Resource Conservation & Recovery Act (RCRA) compliance. Our vast range of field investigation operations include known or suspected explosive ordnance contamination; geophysical anomalies; chemical warfare material (CWM); munitions and explosives of concern (MEC); and agent breakdown products.

As a technical authority in explosive safety, we provided unexploded ordnance (UXO) and laboratory support services to US Army Garrison – Redstone and its tenant organizations, including subsurface anomaly survey and avoidance; explosive ordnance safety handling; ordnance utilization, storage and disposal; quantity-distance (QD) requirements; and test area activity using propellants, missiles weapon systems, and live ammunition. We have extensive capability in developing interactive, simulated frameworks for virtual sustainment training and hands-on exercises in support of the FBI – Hazardous Devices School's safety bomb squad robotics deployment throughout the US. We have also provided scientific training services to US Census Bureau during the 2020 Decennial Census Program, the Office of the Secretary's (OSD) Joint Test & Evaluation (JT&E) program, the US Army Warrant Officer Career College (USAWOCC), and the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE).
